Art and themeing are okay-ish, but the game is a bore.. Combination of Elder Sign + Pathfinder.+ Instructions and tips+ Replay value due to improving characters and random encounters+ Fun - Kinda hard- 99 cent DLCs moving forward. The physical tabletop version of this game is a fantastic lightweight dungeon crawler about fighting nasties and this game is an excellent port to the digital format. Even though it's Early Access, it's a solidly built game with no bugs or anything really negative to say about it. The game feels content complete as is, since it contains all the base dungeons, monsters, and playable characters, with only a few quality of life issues that need to be ironed out. The only thing that seems to be missing right now are the two-character mode, and the campaign mode, which are both planned for addition in the future. RNG can be a bugbear at times, but that's part of the fun of this game, and each run only lasts in the neighbourhood of half and hour, so losing because of a bad roll is no big deal. But even bad rolls can often be mitigated through clever selection of your post-encounter loot, with numerous skills and potions allowing you to reroll or otherwise change die. There's a lot of room for strategic play, but not so much you won't be able to wrap your head around it.If you're looking for a light game that won't make massive demands on your time and skill, and love dungeon crawling, I'd highly recommend this game. It's worth the EA price of $15 for sure.. This showed up on the store page and I really liked the look of it. I decided to buy and I was deeply impressed. It's a fun game with some depth and playability. I love the dice, the difficulty balance, the set-up, everything. It's a game that has a lot going for it. In fact, I like it so much, that I've hunted down the physical game and intend to buy it as soon as I can talk to my game shop about bringing it in. Hopefully the Steam version will release expansions by DLC. I know there's already one for the physical game.. It would be great if more RNG-haters would play this game so they could learn that randomness is not the root of all evil. One Deck Dungeon teaches you that there is a lot of joy and satisfaction to be gained by manipulating the odds so that you come out ahead, even in an extremely dicey situation (pardon the pun). And the fact that it has both temporary and permanent progression is just icing on the cake. I usually shy away from roguelikes, but I'm really glad I took a chance on this one!. Mind-numbingly boring: roll dice and pray to RNGesus. Low rolls mean you die. If you need specific colour dice ( like blue for magic or pink for agility but you are a warrior ) then you die. GG. Restart the game.Playing with one character, I was always short of dice - why does this game mode even exist? Playing with two characters has too many dice and lacks challenge, until you meet a Phantasm that removes your rolls from existence and you get your face smashed on level 3 of the dungeon because you lack magic ability.I never fled from combat. I think that fleeing, to see what is behind the other dungeon doors is a mechanic. I thought that you took a damage penalty from fleeing.. I love the game, but the graphical layout looks like it was designed for a tablet and not PC, especially in 2 player mode. The game does still have some graphic glitches, and it's really annoying that you can't undo after selecting a skill or end reward. After 30 hours of play time I feel I've done everything the game has to offer. I'm looking forward to them realeasing more content for the game in the future.. I really like digital board games, and this one came with a great UI and feels that make me feel like playing the original board game. the rules are simple but take some time to learn, you probably will suffer to kill even the dragon until you starting learning how to manage the characters, skills, potions and everything. after i learn that i took the 5 base bosses without the character progression without much trouble. the characters are diverse and i like the ideia of all Female characters. a change of the usual all male or even half cast male and half female. the dlc it's cheap and give a nice replayability since give you new bosses and heroes, i recommend. but you probably will rage like me with the hound hahahafor the cons, i wish at least some effect when the monster show or for each character attacks, just some visual upgrades. and specially for the Forest of Shadow DLC would be nice to have a Forest UI istead a Base game Dungeon. also some unlocks as reward for beating the bosses would be nice, like a skin for the dices based of the bosses or something like that. Good game, quick and interresting. Recommend.. Very impressed by this game. The first time I tried it out I ended up playing for over 3 hours straight.The game mechanics are very well thought out and appear to be balanced well. As with any dice based game luck is a factor, but it's not nearly as brutal as a game like Talisman. In some ways it reminds me of the Pathfinder Adventures Card Game, but without a need to juggle cards things are more straight forward. I'm pretty confident I've barely scratched the surface of the game though, with character progression and the ability to play a combination of two the game's five classes at a time.The graphical interface in the screenshots looks a bit bland, but when playing the game it doesn't bother me at all.Not being too familiar with the table top version I was tempted to wait for a sale, but I'm very glad I jumped in now.
